A Dandy Surprise! | Trifold Window Scene Card with Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are doing well! Today I want to share the a new #ChallengeACraftyFriend card with you. This time the challenge was: Window Card! So I decided to use a Lawn Fawn backdrop die to create my trifold window card with a little surprise on the inside!

If you would like to see how I made this card just click on the video below or just keep reading!

First, I stamped all my images onto Neenah cardstock and colored all of them using Copic markers. Since I knew some images would be visible through the window on the inside I wanted to have the backs of them colored as well to I used mirror stamping for the typewriter and the desk lamp! Then, they were cut out using the Brother Scan'n'Cut.

Using partial die cutting, I die cut the Foursquare Backdrop into the front of a card base. Then I die cut the backdrop a second time for the inside. I cut down a piece of acetate, adhered it behind the window opening and added the second window die cut on the inside of the card for a finished look when you open the card. I ink blended a background on a second card base to create a trifold card design. I used the hillside and cloudy stencils from Lawn Fawn for this. For the sky I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean and for the hill I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn. I also added some dandelion bits to the background and heat embossed them in clear glitter and added some splatters using Liquid Pixie Dust.

I used tape runner to adhere the two card bases together (you can see exactly how I did it in the video).

Finally I added all my images onto the scene, making sure to hide the little dandy mice on the inside to keep them a surprise!!

I really hope you enjoyed this one! I really had lots of fun making it!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

- Julia

Family Mice is Baking for the Holidays! | Double Slider Surprise Card with Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are doing well & staying safe! Today I want to share the our first ever "series" challenge for #ChallengeACraftyFriend! Lien and I are both totally obsessed with the adorable Lawn Fawn mice - so we decided to make lots of mice cards with the little "Family Mice"! This is my first card for it: Family Mice is baking for the holidays! This is also my entry for the current Lawnfawnatics challenge "Fun with Food" and also my #GetCrackingOnChristmas card for July!

If you would like to see how I made this card just click on the video below or just keep reading!

First, I stamped all my images onto Neenah cardstock and colored all of them using Copic markers. Then, they were cut out using the Brother Scan'n'Cut.

I die cut all the pieces for the Double Slider Surprise out of white cardstock and also a second time out of white again, grey Gotta Have Gingham paper and a strip of dark gray cardstock as my counter. I cut strips and little rectangles to create drawers and cabinet doors for my "kitchen" and I also used the doorknob from the Build-a-House as my pulls for the cabinetry.

I assembled the mechanism (please see the videos for details). For the backing I cut down a piece of Chili Pepper cardstock to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Then I used the Quilted Backdrop and cut it out of white cardstock. I ran that panel through my die cutting machine again with the largest of the Outside-In Stitched Rectangle dies to create an 1/8" border around my panel. As a backing for my double slider I also cut a piece of Storm Cloud cardstock with the second largest of the Stitched Rectangle Stackables.

I added all the layers to an A2 sized card bade and I added all the images to my scene using liquid glue and foam tape (foam only on the main part - not the sliding pieces).

As finishing touches I used shimmer pen and Star Dust Stickles for added glitter and shine and I also added a few white gel pen highlights.

I really hope you enjoyed this one! I really had a ton of fun making it!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Have a Happy Birthday! | CAS-ish Scene Card with Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are doing well! Today I want to share the fourth installment of design #ChallengeACraftyFriend card with you. This time we yet did another redesign. We already made the original Magic Picture Changer Card and turned those into a Scalloped Box Card and a Reveal Wheel Card!
This time the challenge was: Downsizing! Turn a full scene into a smaller version. So I made this CAS-ish (for me anyways! :-D) card!

If you would like to see how I made this card just click on the video below or just keep reading!

First, I stamped all my images onto Neenah cardstock and colored all of them using Copic markers. Then, they were cut out using the Brother Scan'n'Cut. I also added some white gel pen details to the gift boxes.

I die cut the Scalloped Circle Frames 4 times out of white cardstock and I also cut a hill and used the Scalloped Circled to give it the same edge to fit inside the circle. I ink blended one of the inside circles the die created with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide. Then I die cut the Stitched Oliver's ABCs and I used the same Oxides on those. I also die cut the letters again out of fun foam to give them dimension! After that ink blended the hill with Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron Oxide Ink and splattered it with the same colors for added interest. I also die cut lots of little white clouds from the Center Picture Window Die set.

I stamped part of my sentiment from the "Super Star" stamp set onto a Narwhal cardstock strip and heat embossed it in white. This way the sentiment will read "have a happy birthday".

Then, I layered the 4 scalloped circle die cuts using liquid glue and added them directly onto an A2 sized card base. I added circle in the center and the the hill on top. And then I adhered the white puffy clouds and all my images into to the little circle scene using liquid glue and foam tape.

Then I adhered the letters that spell "happy" to the card and added the two little sentiment strips using foam squares. Finally I added lots of shimmer pen and Nuvo Crystal Glaze for added shine and interest!

I really hope you enjoyed this one! I really had a ton of fun making it!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Concert in the Forest | Summer Party Scene Card with Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are doing well! Today I want to share the a new ard with you. I had the idea for this a while back and I am super happy to have finally made it!I used the adorable "Really High Five" and the sweet guitar playing penguin from "Here We Go a Waddeling" from Lawn Fawn  to set my little concert scene!

If you would like to see how I made this card just click on the video below or just keep reading!

First, I stamped all my images onto Neenah cardstock and colored all of them using Copic markers. For the penguin I masked off his santa hat before stamping and just filed in the rest of the line with a Copic Multiliner! Then, they were cut out using the Brother Scan'n'Cut.

I cut a panel of bristol smooth cardstock measuring 4 1/4 x 8 1/2 and I ink blended it with Squeezed Lemonade, Ripe Persimmon, Picked Raspberry, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Ink. I also added splatters of Liquid Stardust for more shine. Then I die cut the elements of the Build-a-House die, the Mini String of Lights die. Some trees using the Hello Bluebird Birch Tree die, tree tops with the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud borders, a hill with the Slimline Hillside Borders dies and a tree stump from the Meadow Backdrop out of various colors of cardstock. I ink blended the hill and tree tops using Shabby Shutter, Peeled Paint and Forest Moss Distress ink. For the trees and tree stump I used Walnut Stain Distress Ink. I assembled the house elements to create my little house. Added the hill, trees, tree tops, tree trunk,  light string and house to the background to set my scene.

Finally I added all my images onto the scene and I also added lots of shimmer pen for added shine!

I really hope you enjoyed this one! I had so much fun making it!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Bring on the Merry! | Interactive Infinity Shaker Card with Hello Bluebird

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are doing well! Today I have a brand new #ChallengeACraftyFriend card to share with you. This time the challenge was: Night Sky Christmas Shaker! So for this one I decided to make my very first infinity shaker card! I used the super sweet "North Pole Littles" to build my scene!

If you would like to see how I made this card just click on the video below or just keep reading!

First, I stamped my images onto Neenah cardstock and colored them in using Copic markers. Then, I cut them out using the Brother Scan'n'Cut.

I die cut a circle out of masking paper and adhered it to a panel measuring 4 1/4 x 8 1/2. Then I ink blended it with Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Distress Oxide ink, making sure to get a nice fade around my "moon". Then I also added lots of splatters in white, silver and using Liquid Stardust to the background. I used a large plastic sleeve and wrapped it around three sides of my panel using tape making sure to no wrap it too tightly. Then I added my shaker mix and sealed the top to create the infinity shaker!

I stamped my sentiment onto the hill and heat embossed it in silver. Then I used some red and white twine to connect the reindeer to the sleigh. I adhered the hill on top of the shaker pouch using double sided tape and added the rest of my images using foam squares and tape runner.

Finally, to add even more sparkle and shine, I added Star Dust Stickles to some of the images, gold Nuvo Drops to the sleigh and lots of shimmer pen to the gifts etc.!

I really like the look of an infinity shaker! I hope you do as well! I had so much fun making this!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Birthday Bash! | Interactive Pop-Up Flippin' Awesome Card with Lawn Fawn

Hello Crafty Friends!

I hope you are doing well! Today I want to share a new interactive card with you. Last year I saw the most amazing version of a Flippin' Awesome Card here by Jooyeon and I fell madly in love with it! Such a cool way to add more to the little panels of the mechanism. So I had this idea in the back of my mind for while to turn this type of style into a birthday card. So now I finally got around to making it and I hope you like it!!

If you would like to see how I made this card just click on the video below or just keep reading!

First, I stamped all of my images (and boy - there were a lot of them!) onto Neenah cardstock and colored them using Copic markers. Then, they were cut out using the Brother Scan'n'Cut. I did some masking on the cake to have a full cake with the candles already blown out.

I die cut all the pieces of the Flippin' Awesome from Bristol Smooth cardstock. And then it got tricky, because the bottom of one panel would 'flip' into the top of the next - so both sides needed to be ink blended. I cut some post its to size to protect the backs from smudges while ink blending. I used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean for the sky and Cracked Pistachio and Pine Needles for the grass. I also added some splatters of the liquid pixie dust for some pretty shine.

I die cut small strips of cardstock and scored them 4 times to create little cubes for the pop up feature.

Then it was time to assemble the Flippin' Awesome. I added the interactive part to the scalloped add on and added that to a piece of patterned paper. After that, I added all my images to the scene. On the last panel I was careful not to layer the cuts too much to make sure it won't snag when the mechanism is being closed.

I stamped the sentiment and added the die cut word to the edge. I had quite a few images left over, so I also added a few to the inside of the card! And that finishes off my card for today. I am so happy I finally made a card like this! It took me a really long time to make but it was so worth it to me! I really hope you like this one!

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

- Julia
